| The person has to be able to feel…their own emotions. If they don’t understand what their own emotions are, they won’t be able to empathize with mine, because they won’t be able to recognize a bona fide emotion. They have to be able to understand something about the family they were born and raised in. I mean the stuff that we’re taught to forget or to hide. This stuff, just as much as the positive stuff, as the good times we remember easily, shape who we are and shapes how we deal when we get into relationships.
