| I am an American. I have lived in America for all 23 years of my existence and frankly, I am more than ready to try and experience some different cultures.
Because of this, I am studying abroad to China for at least a semester (I will very likely extend it to a year or more) at Peking university in Beijing - my classes start August 29'th of 2009 but I plan to be there a month early (beginning of August) to explore the country :). I am traveling there alone because I think it is so much more interesting to travel alone. You learn more, about both yourself and the place you visit, and additionally you become more independent which is an important personality trait, in my opinion. I think Asian people have a very different culture, and different methods of thinking, are this makes them interesting to me and full of things that I can learn from them. At the very least it makes good conversation and, particularly in China, they are usually pretty intelligent and not very egotistical (these are rare traits among American women). A lot of the Asian girls I have met (especially Chinese girls, it seems) have interests that fit well with mine and we usually have interesting discussions and get along well :). |

| I am currently studying business and computer science (almost done) - I hope to be an entrepreneur in America and/or elsewhere and I'm very interested in the process of starting your own business. I feel that the normal jobs that most Americans get are frustrating, unsatisfying, and usually very inefficient. Thus, I hope to avoid all of that and make something great of myself instead :).
I believe that with enough confidence, we can do anything. I also think the following quote is very important for the youth of my generation: "The reasonable man adapts himself to the conditions that surround him... The unreasonable man adapts surrounding conditions to himself... All progress depends on the unreasonable man." -- George Bernard Shaw. This applies to both Men and Women, of course :). I know it is against parts of the Asian culture but, I think if everyone fully understood this quote, the world would be a better place.
I very much enjoy philosophy and trying to understand the way people work, and the way the world works. It is so often that I think people live out their entire lives striving for goals that they don't even know why they are working toward. It's as if they have never thought the extremely important question "Why?". I admit that sometimes it is easy to waste time thinking this but, it's so much more of a waste of time to never think it and do work your whole life for no real reason. |

| I know this is technically a dating site, and I wouldn't mind to meet some amazing girls here for a more serious relationship, (if we fit together, of course) - but I am not primarily here for dating - culture/language exchange and general friendships sound like a lot of fun, too. There is so much I don't know/understand about the Chinese culture and I'd love to learn more about it through some interesting people on this website :).
But, when it comes to women, I find it particularly attractive when they have an interesting mind. It is so rare to find but, just a general interest in thinking, philosophy, solving problems, thinking outside of the box (this is a term used often in America to describe thinking of new and unusual things that are not the norm) etc. It makes conversation so much more interesting when people are like that, in my opinion.
I don't usually enjoy being around people who are very strict and always follow the rules. And very studious people are usually not so much fun (but some studious people are awesome, so there are definitely exceptions). But, I really love it when girls are playful, at the same time as being intelligent :). What is it that Asian people always tell me...."Work hard, but play hard too" right? :D.
I have read that Chinese women are very good at...ermm....well lying and being manipulative. I'd much rather prefer a girl who can say what's on her mind and not play games so much. That shows that you have confidence in yourself and your thoughts and is often a lot more attractive not only to me but to other guys as well! |

| Dinner and a movie is fine with me, so is taking a walk somewhere and having a good conversation - in my experience it doesn't matter what the date is....if the two people fit together well, and like each other, it will be a fun experience for them both no matter what they do. |
